..Return to SHELLBERG FALLS....we want to catch these falls early in the season for the most water. Very scenic. One mile into falls..... perhaps a 'geo-cache' on the way??

Come see the 40’ falls reflected in June Lake on the flanks of Mt. St. Helens, then on up to Chocolate Falls. Find out why it’s called Chocolate Falls. 5.5 miles round trip. 1000’ gain. Rough going over the lava bed.

..New! Benton County Loop: 3 Waterfalls, 3 Covered Bridges including Alsea Falls. 5 mile hike. Hike to the flower-covered summit of Mary’s Peak, highest in the Coast Range. Alsea at the falls.

– Hike the beach at Tillamook Head. Pass view of lighthouse and explore old military bunkers. 2 miles moderately steep uphill, then "coast" down to Ecola Point. 6.3 miles one way with car shuttle. See if “Terrible Tilly” is out.

Portland on Line 24th-26th – New!..
See the wildflower meadows of Iron Mt. Drive through a Covered Bridge, then camp on the way to Cone Peak. Leave camping gear in your trunk and hike a 6.6 m. loop through a wildflower meadow and 360o views. Bring camera and extra layers for possible windy summit. Camp the night, then stop to see several waterfalls on the way home Saturday. NW Forest Pass required. We’ll try to make it easy with a car shuttle. Optional short, easy hike for the car campers & dogs.

– Back to the Coast. Let’s explore Cascade Head to Harts Cove’s Waterfall. 5.4 m. total with a moderate climb back. Then maybe Moe’s for chowder in Lincoln City?

Sat.Sep 4th..Cancelled-Sorry..
– See the stunning waterfalls and wildflower gardens high on Mt. Adams at Bird Creek Meadows. About 10 miles in 2 days. $5 parking fee required. 4x4 or high ground clearance recommended. Car camping option. Mixed difficulty.

Take the loop up the alpine trail to Silcox hut. Reach as high as the top of “The Mile” lift. Then turn around for some breath-taking views of Timothy Lake and Mt. Jefferson. 3 mile loop, 1100’ elevation gain. (yikes!) Don’t let the mileage fool you; we’ll be climbing a steep hill with no water available. Small dogs not recommended.

- Fort Stevens Ride. Your choice of mileage. Visit the museum and gun batteries. Learn some history. Then extend the ride out to Clatsop Spit. Mixed road, paved & gravel bike path. 10 to 20 miles mostly level.
